Osteoporosis (OP) is characterised by reduced bone mass, due to an insufficient osteoblast-mediated bone formation, unable to replace the bone tissue removed by osteoclasts. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent cells capable of differentiating into osteoblasts, adipocytes and chondrocytes.
